Last weekend I had the opportunity to visit with some old friends from elementary and middle school. You know it's funny, we all live within thirty minutes of each other and we never hang-out. It was nice to catch up and make new memories. Bad food is so much better when you are laughing your head off! I felt bad for our servers...it was so late and they probably wanted to go home! (This is why you always leave a good tip...makes them forget the hassle you put them through.) I think the only thing that could have made the night better was to sing HSM2 in the parking lot outside! Unfortunately I had forgotten the CD and they didn't know that words. Hmmm, I'll have to work on that. But it would have been fun!
Anyway, that night we got into a discussion about why we are all friends and why we still like hanging out together. I find it funny too because we used to hate each other! We are all
so different, but I think that because we began building our relationships at church, we are all still friends. We learned early to overlook faults and to support each other. And now I am getting to practice compassion and mercy with some of my old friends outside church. That night was actually a nice break from being around church friends all the time. They are my lifeline, but my "fence-walking" and "ditch-digging" friends are my life's passion. That's what I'm here for...to help them bridge the gap between their passion and the Lifeline. Here are the whopping two pictures I have from our dinner.
This one's for old times' sake...I forget how many pictures I have of us doing this!

It took us three tries to get everyone in!

On another, similarly related note, I found this picture on facebook the other day. Actually made me miss high school a little! (Did I just say that?) This was taken at a graduation party...one of the many that year.

Old friends...I love 'em!
