The Best Place to Hide

Today I found the best place to hide in the church with the help of 3 other interns. Now mind you, this place will not be convenient when our building is finally finished, however, we intern girls got a HUGE laugh out of it today! Spring cleaning was our initial "duty" today. We started after prayer which is some haven't done since November. We cleaned up the sanctuary and got it in tolerable order after packing the U-Haul. For some reason still unexplained to me, we got the hugest U-Haul I have ever seen for this weekend. I think it was 24 feet, or something like that.

Anyway, Laura, Donna, Jynell, and myself were the last ones in the sanctuary cleaning up. After taking a breath or two, we got the *brilliant* idea to jump into the U-Haul that was parked in the side entrance of the sanctuary since it was so huge. (You actually have to step up into it.) Thus began our game of hide-but-no-seek. No one was actually looking for us, but we had a great time "hiding." Of course, all the other interns walked by the U-Haul every few minutes, but we actually managed to not attract attention to ourselves for a few of them. In the middle of all this, we made sure to keep on guard for approaching interns by looking through the rearview mirrors to see who was coming through the doors. We had a few surprise interns walk through the back of the sanctuary and they spotted us right away. It would get stuffy in the front of the U-haul, so we would roll down the windows just enough to get air. But anytime we saw someone coming we'd try to quickly roll up the windows while trying to remain "hidden."

We could barely control our laughter everytime we tried to hide from someone. In fact, I really had little to no control when it came to laughing. (Imagine that!) I think Laura had to cover my mouth once, but I must say after it all, we had some of them completely fooled (until someone gave away our hiding spot). One of the times we were trying to take a picture on the cell phone when we were interrupted by Andrew walking through the door. Of course we rushed to duck and hide so we wouldn't be noticed. In this case, no such luck. But everytime someone "discovered" us, we'd burst out laughing. The looks of surprise and confusion will never be forgotten. It was an all around Laugh-Out-Loud-fest for the 4 of us who crammed into the tiny seat of the U-haul. Despite the stuffiness and the crammed space, we found another way to utilize the enorminty of our faithful U-Haul by making it the best place to hide!
