My first time of early bird shopping was today and I am tired! My plan was to hit Best Buy at 5am this morning, but I decided I wanted to sleep longer. So I headed out to Target at 6, where the entire Bay Area gathered to shop! I've never seen the parking lot that full! I have to say that I think people who camp out in this weather are nuts! They must really have lots of money to spend and shopping to do because carts were gone by the time we got in there and checkout lines were wrapped around the store. The lines were moving pretty fast, but because they were so long, Bubba and I wanted to buy a game to pass the time in line. Being rookies to this whole shopping frenzy, we didn't realize just how long lines would be or that express lines were open! So we grabbed Mancala off the game shelf to help pass our time in line when a salesperson told us we could head to the express checkout line, which was much faster! We were happy!
People and parking this morning were unbelievable! Trying to move around people without bumping them was crazy...I lost track of how many times I said "sorry" this morning. Everyone was in a rush to get their items. When it came to parking and standing in line, some people were just plain vicious! My thoughts regarding this were, "I know we're all cranky this early in the morning, but is a bad attitude really going to get you in or out of there faster?" And that was just one store! I personally did not have the energy (I'm still sore from that soccer game), nor money, to go to more than two stores. So after hitting up two stores in two hours, and scoring some great deals, we headed home. Two hours of early bird Christmas shopping is plenty for me! Maybe I'll try again in a few years when my list is longer.....
