I have lost count how many times I've been told that I look like someone from a movie or TV show. I have a boss that thinks I look like the female ice skater from "Cutting Edge". I've never seen it! Nicole's grandpa said I look like the girl from "Whale Rider". (I still haven't seen it yet, but he promised to pay me if I said I didn't like it!) I'll let you know. I've been told that I look like the girl from "Mission Impossible" (1 or 2---can't remember). In any case, I've never seen either! And I have no idea how many times someone has said I look like Jessica Alba. Anytime there has been an event (at school, church, camp, etc.) to dress up for as a character, someone has came up with the *brilliant* idea to have me dress up like "the girl from Dark Angel" (a.k.a. Jessica Alba). Up until about 2 years ago, I never even knew what she looked like because I've never seen the show!
As you can see, there is a pattern in these comments. I've never seen any of these movies or these people! Which makes everything even more mystifying when I don't know what these people look like. Last night, I finally knew who my co-worker was talking about when she compared me to yet another "person".
I was busy folding jeans when one of my very sweet co-workers come up to me with a pink cardboard and plastic box from the children's section. When she brought the box to me, she said, "I just found this in the young men's section and thought I'd show you who reminds me of you." I leaned over towards the box and found myself staring at 5 seemingly identical Kelly dolls in tutu's and ballet slippers. With the exception of color variations in hair, eyes, tutu's and skin, they were basically all Kelly dolls. Curious, I asked my co-worker which one I looked like. She pointed to the one with long black hair (for some reason there wasn't any with dark brown hair). I laughed and when I was done laughing I said, "So basically you're saying I look like Barbie (Kelly)?!" And she nodded her head.
Now reflecting on this brings me to the conclusion that I look nothing like Barbie! However I have met a few people in my life who remind me of Barbie and her like. Namely, Jenny and Olivia's friend, Savannah. And I'd have to disagree that I look like any of the aforementioned characters/actresses from all those movies and shows I haven't seen!

I thought Barbie had a red minivan and she brought tag-along Kelly with her for babysitting. Apparently, I'm Kelly!

geez you enjoy blogging, another wonderful way to waste time. but what seems as much useless as time that is spent writning this is the person who reads this and goes wow what a waste of time then tells the person that you wasted my time reading your silly nonsense! Now of course if I wasn't your brother I'd probably go off and say that you look like someone ridiculous like queen latifah, whom you may have never seen! (hee hee) or like that really good looking chik from phantom of the opera which I found her name, Emmy rossum (and really not even she looks like you)
nice name though.. and rhymes with Nahela! no wait.. nahel...rossu.. never mind it doesnt but At least I tried! hehe well sis I can see your just living up looking like barbie but I've always heard that you look beautiful so I dont think barbie can compare because she smokes and is anorexic,
and jessica alba can't because she's invisible compared to you.
